Of course my parents did not only wanted to eat the viennoiseries from des Gâteau et du Pain while in Paris, so we got some stuff at Pierre Hermé as well.
From January 20 to 9 March there is this thing called Fetish infinement citron. During this period the Pierre Hermé shops have a large amount of lemon flavored pastries. We tried the cheesecake infiniment citron.
The cheesecake consists of a pâte sablée (cookie crust at the bottom), ladyfinger biscuit soaked in lemon juice, lemon cheesecake, lemon cream cheese cream and lemon marmalade. Because of the ladyfinger biscuit that was soaked in juice, the pâte sablée was also soaked and not crispy anymore. Overall I though it was okay, not spectacular. I think I could have something better for the €7 .
Tarte infinement mandarin. I think the price was also €7.
A cirspy pâte sablée tart shell, pieces of mandarin, mandarin cream and candied mandarin zest. Definitely very delicious.
Tarte fine Chloé. A pâte sablée with a thin layer of raspberry, chocolate ganache (which also tasted like raspberry) and a thin layer of dark chocolate. For €4,50 the price/deliciousness ratio was a lot better than with the cheesecake! I liked this tarte, but it isn’t something I would re-buy. After all, there are way too many things I want to try before re-purchasing.
Pierre Hermé has several shops. This time we went to the one in the 15th arrondisement.
